Appellate Attorney Daniel Woodring

Attorney Woodring has significant, high- stakes appellate experience. At the beginning of his legal practice, he analyzed hundreds of Appeals while working two years as an appellate law clerk. During his time as a counsel for Governor Jeb Bush in the Executive Office Office of the Governor, and General Counsel for the Florida Department of Education and the State University Board of Governors, he was involved in most of the State of Florida’s highest priority cases and appeals, including cases in which significant Florida and Federal Constitutional issues and billions of dollars were at stake. One of his responsibilities at the Governor’s office included interviewing and advising on the selection of judicial candidates for Florida’s appellate and trial courts.

Mr. Woodring is a member of the Florida and Georgia Bars, and is admitted to practice before the Florida Federal Southern, Middle and Northern District Courts, the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Supreme Court. He has argued cases at the Florida Supreme Court and the Florida District Courts of Appeal, and has briefed cases at the U.S. Supreme Court. Since returning to private practice, he has handled appeals, for individuals, small Florida businesses, constitutional entities, and and national and international corporations.

Attorney Woodring is a member of the Appellate Law, Administrative Law, and Governmental Lawyer sections of the Florida Bar and served as a member of the Judicial Administration and Evaluation Committee, and as Chair of the Education Law Committee of the Florida Bar. Daniel Woodring has lived in Florida for the past twenty-five years. Currently living in Tallahassee, but practicing law statewide, he previously lived and worked in Pensacola, Clearwater, Jacksonville, and Gainesville. His wife Jean, also an attorney, was born in Miami, and grew up in Ft. Myers. They have a son and a daughter. Mr. Woodring graduated from the University of Florida, College of Law with a Juris Doctorate, Cum Laude, and received his B.A. degree from Clearwater Christian College, Summa Cum Laude.
